This painting was created while I was driving back and forth from my home to my son's college to watch him play football.  It was a melancholy time as I was a new empty-nester and I was missing having my son around every day.  There is a beautiful pond on the highway between the two locations and every time I would go past it, I would think about how peaceful and lovely the pond was.
