I created this painting while attending Tim Castle's painting class out at Marshalltown Community College. It is a transcription (or my interpretation) of a Duchamp painting. I absolutely love the colors of this one and it is a HUGE piece!

This was painted in Tim Castle's class. It was taken from a photograph of a bombed apartment building. Part of the building was still intact, but you could see into the apartments in other parts and people were still living there.

This is one of my favorite paintings. I just saw an awesome picture in a magazine and decided to 'make it my own'. I loved the sparseness of the crumbling house against the bright color of the oranges. The fish are sparkly and you can't see it in the photo very well, but there is a hint of a plant on the other side of the window.

I belonged to an online art group from 2001-2004. Every month we would have some type of theme and everyone would paint something and post it for the group to critique. This painting was created in the month we decided to have a theme based on the artwork of Marc Chagall.

I love Picasso. This painting is an homage to him and his work. It is a collage with mixed media - a paint brush, a packet of seeds, fabric, etc.

This is an acrylic collage on stretched canvas. The sides are painting so framing is not necessary.

This is actually the first painting I completed in Tim Castle's class. It is based on a TV news clip I saw of a man shielding his son from gun fire on a street in Beirut. The man and his son were eventually shot and both died. It really made an impact on me, so I wanted to do something to convey how I felt about that moment captured in time by the media.
